About Northern Rivers Support Coordination Services

Northern Rivers Support Coordination Services is a participant-orientated organisation that delivers a flexible service. We have a focus to ensure the successful application of NDIS funding for adolescent people and adults using our services. We perform a valued role in the community in supporting families and carer’s towards developing independence and self-determination for our NDIS participants.
At Northern Rivers Support Coordination Services, we operate within the relevant legislative frameworks, and we ensure the structures and supports are in place for participants to achieve their goals. This means the opportunity to be included in an ordinary life, in the community and in all public systems. We work with our participants so they can achieve an independent life in their community.
We recognise that Australia is a multicultural community and strive to provide respectful and culturally sensitive services to NDIS participants. We are located in the Northern Rivers of NSW and due to the recent natural disasters our service is provided flexibly both in person and via virtual platforms.

Tarlai Iggleden
Tarlai relocated to the Northern Rivers in 1980 and is a long-standing member of the community. Tarlai is the parent and carer of a young woman with substantial disabilities. This initiated a motivation to further both her education and understanding on how to positively include her daughter in mainstream life over the past 31 years.
Tarlai has completed a Bachelor of Arts, Post Graduate Diploma of Education, and Master of Autism studies. Tarlai is a mental health first aider and maintains an interest in working with individuals with communication challenges and psychosocial disabilities.
These qualifications facilitated employment in community ceramic classes for children and adults, OSHC Director – Lismore City Council, High School teaching opportunities, and NDIS Local Area Coordination services.
Tarlai has extensive experience in working with people with disabilities, their families, and support personnel. Tarlai’s knowledge of the NDIS legislation and operational guidelines was well-honed, in her years working as a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) and Community Engagement Champion.
Tarlai has actively participated in educating both families and participants in the merits of Self-Management and supported them to understand how to use their NDIS plan to take advantage of the opportunity that well-considered support services and budgeting can achieve.
During her time working as a LAC, Tarlai supported over 300 NDIS participants to develop their goals and implement their NDIS plan. Since moving in the field of Support Coordination Tarlai has assisted many participants to navigate the NDIS pathway and gain successful outcomes at their NDIS planning and review meetings. Northern Rivers Support Coordination Services has a comprehensive process to access risk factors for participants with complex and/or high risk needs. Our Risk Matrix is developed with the participant to assesses and summarise risks in relation to the safety of all stakeholders. The risk assessment process assists Northern Rivers Support Coordination Services employees in exercising a duty of care and must be completed for all participants accessing Northern Rivers Support Coordination – Specialist Support Coordination service. The risk assessment is a combination of coloured coded risk matrix and information gathering.
